MUSIC – Blackledge Falling – Lows Highs & Powis Skies EP
ARTWORK – Toby Paterson – Signed & numbered 250gsmArcoprint Indigo, 280mm x 280mm.
Blackledge Falling was formed out of necessity. A reaction to expensive recording studios and the constraints of being in a Rock n Roll band. Despite Allie Baird being the consistent factor in Blackledge Falling there have been vital contributions from a myriad of highly skilled musicians and friends. This particular sonic exploration is a collaboration between Baird and long time acquaintance and Va Va head honch A La Fu.
Toby Paterson was born in Glasgow in 1974, and still lives and works in the city. In 2002 he was the winner of the Beck’s Futures art prize and exhibits internationally. As well as his more gallery based practice, he makes art for the public realm and was recently the recipient of several public commissions, notably the completed Powder Blue Orthogonal Pavilion in London and Poised Array, a work made for the façade of the BBC Scotland Headquarters in Glasgow. Paterson was also appointed lead artist on the extension to the Docklands Light Railway for the London Olympics in 2012.
