For the first VaVa releases we present to you a limited trip tych collection. Two songs on an exclusive hand-made 7” from each of the signed artists on the label.

The first comes from A'la Fu who brings us two workings from two different collaborations. We get ‘Journeys' with the wonderful vocal styling of Ms. Sandra Melody while on the flip side and in our opinion, two of the finest rappers ever, Big Dada and Shadowless artists, Blackitude and Juice Aleem with ‘The Phraff'.

‘Journey's' with Sandra Melody has A'la Fu interpret his version of some of the sounds that influenced the music from artists he has worked with under the Big Dada label and the labels night Gosh! of which A'la Fu was resident. “I do enjoy being opened up into a new style of music where you have guys who are able to give you the etiquette and understanding, eventually you to give your take on proceedings and hopefully that equals growth or a different angle at least”. ‘Journey's' then has strong elements taken from the Bashment/Dancehall sound but with a fresh twist very much conscious from that ‘different angle' along with A'la Fu's ‘keep em moving' regime on the floor. Add to that the wonderful Sandra Melody and we complete a fine take on those hot, sweaty club nights of start to finish movement and smiles…a journey if you will.

‘The Phraff' takes us on a different trip of which the message is simple…we don't like the phraff, we're tired of the irrelevant and incessant chat from some of our contemporaries. No deep meaningfulness here just a straight up good old fashioned rant about some of the unending dribble that we can hear from rappers on a daily basis. Musically we're talking a loose slice of modern day musical hip hop, a rolling somewhat lazy rhythm in which the raps come through like taxis cabs in rush hour…

The next single will come from the realms of Mr. Brent Handlebear, that charming rogue is for once busy in his studio domain for what will surely be a serving of some wholesome, tasty, slightly left of centre ear candy…honestly, we don't even know what to expect, no one's seen him around for weeks but he has checked in to confirm he is indeed on schedule…

To complete the collection we are very excited to welcome to the VaVa family, multi talented musicians, We Yo Nee…we've been lucky enough to hear some new workings from the duo and we are anticipating another fully rounded release that follows on from their stunning debut single ‘Needs Must/Capricorn 4’ which is available through the site…A lot to look forward to we hope you agree. We'll keep you updated as to when the single will be released and available.
